A Challenge/Warning to Church Members

This past Sunday, I preached a message for the entire church body as both a challenge and a warning. The challenge was that we guard our church from becoming like the church at Ephesus (Revelation 2:4-5) who had abandoned their first love (Jesus); and a warning, that like Ephesus, the Lord threatens to remove His lampstand from us or any other church who does not love Him entirely and His Church. Removing His lampstand means we lose our ability to shed the light of Truth and we lose our influence and spiritual impact in our community. The way we prevent this is:
1. We work and pray together for the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (no bickering, fighting, gossiping with/about each other.)
2. We walk together in brotherly love. (Yes, we get to know each other beyond face and name recognition)
3. We make attendance a priority. (How do you say you love your church and not come to ALL her worship services unless providentially hindered?)
4. We live lives that prove we belong to Jesus and not to the world. (We must show the world we belong to Jesus by our daily living)
5. We seek the salvation of our lost friends, family, co-workers, etc. by being actively involved in sharing the Gospel. (Every professor of Christ is sent to win souls. There are two types of Christians: those who share the Gospel and backsliders.)
(Sorry, this message was not recorded)
